Thank you to all our international guests, local speakers, sponsors and especially to the delegates who attended the first Asterisk Community Conference in Africa 2016.
The 2016 Asterisk Community Conference & Expo was held at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton on 16 and 17 February. This two-day event promoted Asterisk in Africa by bringing together local experts and international guests from the cutting edge of Asterisk development and integration. What is Asterisk?
Day 1 of the Conference was devoted to formal and informal training including the Asterisk from Scratch (previously known as the Asterisk 1-2-3) course, dCAP exam sessions, technical workshops and offered opportunities to meet industry experts.
Day 2 highlighted the development of Asterisk and its future in telephony with key-note addresses and product development sessions presented by industry leaders.
VIP guests included David Duffett and Justin Hester of Digium. David MC'd the event and offered the keynote address. On Day 1, Justin hosted the Asterisk from Scratch course for all those new to Asterisk or wanting to learn more.
International industry experts such as Lorenzo Emilitri of Loway and Diego Gosmar of xCally and Ben Klang of Mojo Lingo gave insight into their products and how they can enhance an Asterisk telephony solution. Find out more about our international and local speakers.
The Expo provided unprecedented opportunities for providers to showcase Asterisk-related products to peers and potential customers.
